Tuesday in North West

I'm usually a picture person, and believe in the old adage, "a picture is worth a thousand words". But this one time I feel compelled to thank my people, as I have been truly blessed with good friends and family. Michelle Nix, my generous friend and colleague, gave me a round trip plane ticket that made this trip up north possible.

Michelle flew with me, stayed for the weekend, shared meals and laughter with Meg and I. Michelle and I walked to the Saturday Art Market, met up with Miriam's in-laws Mona and Chuck, who are wood artists and participate in Saturday Market each week. It was really fun to connect with them. Saturday Market is huge, and noisy, and beautiful!!!

Meg and Quincy were at the Horse show in Wilsonville, and won champion again, even though Quincy had a little accident and scrapped his "Horse Knees". As you can see from Barn pictures below, all turned out well and Meg and Quincy will continue to show. Quincy, by the way, is the biggest horse I have ever seen Meg ride. She had to climb a fence to get up on him bareback:-)

Megan, is generous enough to host her mother at her house, which I truly love and appreciate. Not only for the money saving aspect, but my grandmother used to laugh and say, guests are like fish, after 4 days they start to stink :-). So here I am in Portland/Vancouver and Meg and I have painted walls, and gardened and landscaped, and gone to the local swim lake. today Meg has signed us up to take a class in glass fusion  in a downtown Portland art studio. Perhaps I will come home with new hand made beads for my jewelry projects.  Yesterday I met Quincy and watched Meg and Quincy play. Bareback in August 100 degree heat made for a really lovely photo opportunity.

I met Meg's neighbor, Imael , from Russia I think, but he has very little English so it is hard to tell. Imael is an amazing gardener and has helped Meg begin her kitchen garden for food and herbs. It is so clean up here, the air is sweet, and I have seen butterflies that I never see at home any more.

Thank you Michelle:-)
Thank you Miriam :-)
